Toyota x Lexus — Senior UX & HMI Cockpit Designer

Crafting outstanding user experiences within the automotive realm drives my professional passion. I am dedicated to the principles of human-centered design, continually pushing the boundaries of innovation, and seamlessly integrating cutting-edge technology. At the forefront of prototyping initiatives, UX design, and intricate design system development, I lead the charge for the next generation of Toyota vehicles. My expertise extends to both Toyota North American vehicles and Toyota Connected Europe. In the latter, my team and I conducted extensive research and designed features tailored specifically for the European market, enhancing the overall driving experience.
My contributions encompass the refinement of driver information clusters, steering wheel interfaces, and infotainment screens. I am committed to advancing both the current iteration of the Toyota vehicle fleet and actively participating in the research and development of the digital cockpit and services that will shape the future automotive landscape.

Toyota Rav4 - 2026
During my time at Toyota, I worked as a Senior UX & HMI Cockpit Designer on the next-generation vehicle infotainment system, with the Toyota RAV4 (2026) serving as the launch vehicle. I was part of the core team that carried this platform from early benchmarking through to production, contributing across UX strategy, global design iterations, prototyping, and user testing. My primary focus was on the foundational design system and high-fidelity interactive prototypes that power the infotainment experience across markets. Alongside this, I collaborated on a wide range of system domains, including third-party integrations with Spotify, as well as platform alignment with Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto.
Beyond infotainment, I contributed to the design and refinement of the home screen, settings, charging flows, and broader interface patterns. I was also closely involved in research and compliance efforts, ensuring the system met European regulations and standards. Through work with both Toyota North America and Toyota Connected Europe, I helped shape experiences tailored to regional needs while contributing to the long-term vision of Toyota’s digital cockpit and in-vehicle services.

Lexus ES - 2026
In parallel with the Toyota, I worked on the Lexus implementation of the same next-generation infotainment platform. My role focused on translating the shared system architecture into a distinctly Lexus experience, tailored for a high-end market with elevated expectations around refinement, clarity, and craftsmanship. I was closely involved in shaping the Lexus specific UX and visual language, working on interaction patterns, motion behavior, and a dedicated design system layer that sits on top of the core platform.
Working within the constraints of a shared global platform, I helped ensure the system scaled effectively from Toyota to Lexus, balancing brand differentiation, regulatory requirements, and technical limitations. This project demonstrated how a single infotainment foundation can support both mass-market and luxury vehicles through thoughtful UX adaptation and system design.

Lexus LFA - Concept
In addition to production infotainment design, I contributed to concept work for Black Butterfly, a next-generation cockpit UX vision explored by Lexus and Toyota through concept initiatives showcased at Milan Design Week 2026. The Black Butterfly is an innovative dual-interface control concept developed for future software-defined vehicles, blending advanced interaction with a human-centric design philosophy.
My involvement spanned early UX ideation, interaction concepts, and experiential explorations that informed how a high end cockpit could feel intuitive, expressive, and emotionally resonant. I collaborated with cross-functional design teams to push the boundaries of how drivers engage with emerging automotive experiences.

Simulation Driven UX Prototyping
I used ProtoPie as a simulation layer to explore and validate cockpit interactions beyond static design, enabling experiential testing of motion, responsiveness, and system feedback. This allowed user testing sessions to reflect real driving scenarios, supporting more informed decisions around interaction timing, hierarchy, and driver focus.
By testing behavior rather than screens, the prototyping process helped ensure that UX concepts were intuitive, safe, and scalable across vehicle platforms.

Global Prototyping and Experimental UX
Alongside my work on the interface efforts, I supported prototyping efforts on a global level, working with teams in Europe, North America, and Australia. This meant designing and validating concepts that could scale across regions while still accounting for local driving contexts, regulations, and user expectations. I spent a lot of time exploring different ways to create meaningful stimuli for complex and safety critical situations. Rather than relying only on static screens, I refined interactive and simulation driven prototypes that allowed teams to experience timing, feedback, and driver attention in more realistic conditions.
This helped shift conversations from opinion based discussions to tangible, testable driving behaviour and interactions. I consistently looked for new ways to prototype and communicate ideas by introducing new tools, workflows, and testing approaches.
Design Thinking and Workshop Facilitation
In addition to hands on design work, I also led and supported design thinking workshops with cross teams and leadership. These sessions were used to explore future facing concepts, align on problem definitions, and generate ideas for next generation as well as continuous improvement of the current lineup.
My role in these workshops was often to translate complex challenges into clear frameworks and tangible designs. By combining facilitation with rapid prototyping, I supported the team move from discussion to shared understanding and tangible outcomes.
Cross Functional Collaboration and Stakeholder Alignment
I worked closely with a broad range of stakeholders, including fellow designers, researchers, product owners, and development teams. I often acted as a connector between disciplines, helping align user needs, technical constraints, and strategic goals.
By involving stakeholders early and working transparently across teams, I helped ensure that design decisions were grounded, scalable, and well understood. This approach supported smoother collaboration, and more robust design outcomes across global teams.
