Brussels Airport — During my time at Brussels Airport, I contributed to the digital innovation team by spearheading UX/UI projects and introducing cutting-edge concepts.

My role —

Together, we developed a comprehensive design system called .Air, ensuring consistent and user-friendly experiences across all digital products.

It was a privilege to enhance the journeys of millions of travelers passing through Brussels Airport annually

Case —

As sustainability and environmental awareness grow increasingly vital, Brussels Airport set out to take a pioneering step toward eco-friendly initiatives. This project centered on providing passengers and visitors with real-time information about their carbon footprint throughout their time at the airport.

As the demand for transparency in environmental impact grows, Brussels Airport sought a way to inform travelers about their CO2 emissions in an engaging and accessible way. The challenge was to design a solution that would effectively raise awareness and inspire travelers to make conscious choices—all while preserving a seamless airport experience.

Together with Brussels Airport we developed a user-friendly kiosk interface that provides real-time data on CO2 emissions. By simply scanning their boarding passes or entering details, passengers can instantly see the environmental impact of their journey and other airport activities. The system also allows users to offset their emissions by contributing to environmental causes.

Brussels Airport luggage retrieval FIDS screen

Luggage retrieval times

By using FIDS screens (Flight information display system) we tested if arriving passengers stayed longer at the airport if they knew how long it would take for their luggage to arrive on the belt.

We wanted to see if they bought something extra in the shops while waiting. We changed these screens every week or 2 to test new metrics and data.
